I’m thinking how I would of given up on these people if I was the one writing this story instead of God. God’s faithfulness is to His promise and faithfulness. This statement in my study bible stood out today. A truth to cling to.
“Here and throughout this account, however, the reader is being trained to see that the apparent hiddenness of God does not indicate the uncaring absence of God.”

Thinking on Rebeka’s actions, wasn’t it really because she didn’t believe Gods promise about her sons. Deceit stars and ends with Rebekah never seeing her son again. God’s purpose is never thwarted yet we do suffer consequences of disobedience. Jacob the deceiver is then deceived. So much heartache. God’s plan unfolds and through this Judah is born and through Judah would come God’s deliverer. How many times has my stubbornness caused unnecessary heartache. Thankful we have a God who is able to work all things for good!
