God’s Covenant with Us

Although Psalm 12 was written by David and refers to Israel, we can see the similarities to our society and realize nothing has changed over the centuries. We still want to be our own god (who can be our master?) and celebrate wrong as right (what is worthless is exalted by the human race). But God is ever present (you, LORD, will guard us; you will protect us from this generation forever) and faithful, even when we are not.

  1. Echoes of Genesis 1-3
Told to be fruitful and multiply
Reminded them they were created in His image
They would be over Gods creation
    Established a covenant with Noah

    Differences

God gives allows them to eat meat not just plants and vegetables
Sanctity of life is mentioned and that their is a penalty due for anyone who does not value it.
Promise never to destroy God’s created living creatures again by flood. Rainbow is given as a promise of this covenant
